Hikari Watanabe, Edogawa Gakuen Toride High School
Hello, my name is Watanabe.
This will be my first and last blog post.
So, out of all the things I want to write about, I've decided to write a summary and reflection this time.
First of all, I didn't know about the existence of this GSC until the very last minute. My school had an announcement about another university's GSC, and when I opened the website to submit the necessary documents, I found out about it. I decided to apply because it offered more flexibility in content, and since it was at the University of Tokyo, I figured that talented people from all over the country would gather there... I never imagined back then that I would be able to participate in the first stage, let alone advance to the second stage
When I actually participated, I found that talented people from all over Japan, from Hokkaido in the north to Miyazaki in the south, were taking part. It felt like a miracle to be able to talk with such wonderful people, and I had a fantastic time, sometimes receiving help with my studies, sometimes talking about hobbies, and creating memories that will last a lifetime. Due to the coronavirus, the second stage was mostly conducted online, which made it difficult to deepen my interactions with the other participants, but I look forward to the day when we can all gather and talk again as graduates of this program
I was very happy to be able to pursue the research I wanted to do while still in high school, and it also boosted my motivation to become a researcher in the future. I would like
to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who supported my research, and to the professor and everyone in the research lab who accepted me.
This will be a memory I'll cherish forever! Thank you so much for your precious time
